Dayan Contract Mining LLC's Chief Deep Mining Specialist, Erdenebayar surnamed Dol, rang the bell for the second blasting of drawbell from the Oyu Tolgoi project.

Oyu Tolgoi underground first drawbell blast took place on June 17, 2022, and the “The First Underground Drawbell” was rung by Batsukh Galsan, the Chairman and the Board of Directors, Oyu Tolgoi LLC.

The honorary bell for the second explosion was rung on July 1, 2022 by Dul Erdenebayar, Development Superintendent of Dayan Contract Mining LLC.

Dul.E is one of our experienced leaders who has been working in underground mining for 17 years and has trained and led hundreds of young miners. His years of hard work and experience are one of the reasons why he was nominated to ring the honorary drawbell for underground mine.

Ringing the honorary bell on behalf of our Dul.E is an honor that Oyu Tolgoi LLC respects our miners and their achievements. I always believe that our miners have the knowledge and experience to bear this respect and can demonstrate it through their actions. The reason for being respected is to perform the planned tasks with high quality standards while maintaining safety.

I have known Dul.E for 17 years. Dul.E is a recognized person who has a gentle appearance on the outside, but has a heart like a fire burning inside, and can show that he treats everyone with respect. He is a man who never shuts down, a respected man, a supportive husband, a strong father to his children, and an able leader who became the leader of a thousand miners. I am proud to work with Dul.E and learn from him.

The bell signifies the commencement of production from our extraction level and will be rung each time we blast a Drawbell. To commemorate each Drawbell firing, we select a team member who has gone above and beyond to ring the bell.

Dul Erdenebayar was chosen by the OT Underground Leadership team to ring the bell for the second blast, acknowledging his significant contributions to our project since 2006. Dul is a Development Superintendent, leading by example with a passion for safety and motivation to ensure work is executed on plan. He is well-respected by his team and peers within both the Dayan and Oyu Tolgoi teams.
